Wow, don't these young Black men look amazing on the court? It's so inspiring to see them working together as a team and giving it their all every time they hit the court. It's moments like these that make us proud to be a part of this wonderful community.
Is AAU Basketball Harming Your Child’s Health?
While it's undeniable that basketball is a fantastic sport, some have raised concerns about the potential negative impacts of playing too much AAU basketball. According to a study referenced in this article from Pro Skills Basketball, playing too much AAU basketball can lead to increased fatigue, injury risk, and burnout.
Now, I'm not saying that AAU basketball is a bad thing. In fact, as we just saw with the Mambas team, it can be incredibly positive and empowering. However, it's important for parents and guardians to carefully consider their children's health and well-being when deciding how much basketball is too much.
At the end of the day, we want our young Black athletes to not only excel on the court but to also prioritize their health and happiness in all aspects of their lives. Let's continue to support and uplift these amazing young athletes as they chase their dreams and work towards excellence.
